Documents and Certificates.

Secure the records that unlock each next step. Start with originals, authority documents, and records that prove identity, financial obligations or ownership. Build one controlled index before family members, attorneys, insurers, banks, or vendors begin requesting copies.

Locate first
Government-issued identification, certified death certificates, will and trust documents, powers of attorney and medical directives, marriage, birth, divorce, adoption, and military records, deeds, titles, and insurance policies, recent tax returns and account statements.

Handle with care
Keep originals in one secure location. Record who has each original, when it left, and when it returned. Share copies only with verified professionals or institutions. Do not send Social Security numbers, account credentials, or un-redacted records through ordinary email or intake forms.

How Family Transition Office helps
We create the document index, request list, owner tracker, and handoff log; coordinate retrieval; and keep professional requests from becoming duplicate family work. We do not determine legal sufficiency or provide legal, tax, or financial advice.
