Packing a home is not the same as closing one.
Moving after illness or loss is a sequencing problem: what stays, what moves, what is valued, what is donated, who has access, and which vendor acts, and when. Boxes should follow decisions—not force them.
DECIDE BEFORE PACKING
• Define the destination, available space, move date, access, and first-night essentials.
• Separate keep, family review, gift, appraisal, sale, donation, storage, disposal, and do-not-move zones and locations.
• Secure documents, medication, valuables, devices, keys, photographs, and items needed immediately or for accessibility.
• Resolve specialist handling for art, collections, valuables, regulated items, fragile objects, and sensitive records.
BUILD THE MOVE CONTROL PLAN
Create a room and item inventory at the level the move requires; compare mover scope, insurance, packing materials, storage, shipping, and access…and why; label every container by destination and priority; and document what leaves, where it goes, and who receives it.
HOW WE HELP
We build the sequence, prepare scopes and bid comparisons, coordinate family review and vendor decisions and access, maintain the move and custody logs, and track the final property closeout. We do not provide moving, appraisal, legal, tax, insurance, or financial services, but we can manage vendors who do.
